DC Mayor faces stiff challenge in re-election bid

The incumbent, however, isn't Barack Obama. It's the mayor of Washington, Adrian Fenty. He took office four years ago. Now he's facing a serious challenge from the chairman of the D.C. Council, Vincent Gray. The two men are the Democratic front-runners in the contest. Since there is no Republican seeking the post, whoever wins the Sept. 14 primary has a lock on the general election in November. Early voting in the contest began Monday. Follow Yahoo!
